Barry Dixon

I was immensely pleased and proud to be asked to be the patron of the
Manchester Children's Burns Foundation. One of the stated aims of Greater
Manchester Fire and Rescue Service is to reduce the impact of fire on all
residents and visitors to the area and I would see the work of the
Foundation as an extension of that aim.

As a professional fire fighter of over thirty years experience I have
witnessed first hand the enormous impact and long lasting effects fire
injuries can have on people, particularly children. The stated aims of the
trust are ones I wholeheartedly support, to reduce those impacts and help in
supporting the young people affected in dealing with the implications for
each of them.
