Dave Lenagan. BEng (Hons). MIFireE
Firefighter, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees Children’s Burns Foundation
Dave has been a Firefighter with Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service since 1985. His involvement with burns charities began in 1998 when he heard about Manchester Children’s Burns Camp through a colleague. Dave initially became involved as a volunteer because he was severely burned himself when he was two years old and spent many months in hospital. Treatment for his burn injuries continued through out his childhood. Dave is now the Assistant Director of Manchester Children’s Burns Camp.
Through the Burns Camp Dave works with many children who are struggling to come to terms with their own burn injuries. Dave’s personal experience of living with burn injuries enable him to encourage the children and show them that it is possible for them to go on to achieve their goals in life just like he did by becoming a Firefighter.
