Dr Mamta Shah MBBS MS PhD FRCS(Plast)

Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital and Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester Honorary Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Life Sciences at the University of Manchester.

Dr Shah specialises in the management of children with burn injuries, post-burn reconstructive surgery and management of problem scarring.

Mamta has been looking after burn injured children since 1994 and is the lead clinician of the regional paediatric Burns Service in Manchester. She leads a small group of researchers at the University of Manchester investigating the way burn wounds heal and exploring why burn injuries produce lumpy scars. She is dedicated to helping burn injured children lead a normal life in society.
